Motorcycle Riding in the Nevada Desert
January 15th, 2007I love Nevada, I love Nevada for so many things, this year I have managed to be able to get out a few times and enjoy one of my favorite things to do in Nevada. In my opinion there is nothing better to do in the winter than to go ride my dirt bike. It is especially nice because it only takes me 10 minutes from my house to get to some of the best riding within 100 miles. I get to see some awesome country, some times it is a blur and other times we sit at the top of mountains and enjoy the beautiful landscape of the block fault valleys.
You often also get some friendly competition when you ride with a few friends, you know, the type where you see who can hold the throttle open longer and go fastest through a section… other times you see if you can sneak past someone when they think they are going fast, but none of those compete at a a chance to just sit and enjoy the view and talk about the weeks past events after an awesome single track just kicked you butt. Anyway about, it is a good time out in the Nevada Desert.
Most don’t think of technology when they think about motorcycle riding, well other than maybe the amazing technology that is in the bike that makes them fast and smooth, but there is other technology, one such example that I got to play with the other day is helmet mounted video cameras. My buddy got one the other day and he mounted it up and we went riding. The camera came in a cool little kit with everything you need to shoot video while you are doing outdoor activities. It works pretty good and is pretty easy to operate, it is small, light weight, functions quite well and is very reasonably priced just under $300.
Anyway, happy New Year and don’t expect me to be posting any more of these blog post since this post only took me 3 hours, including the time to edit down the video. But hey, I could not pass up the opportunity to share some cool video, doing one of the things I love most, spending time in Nevada. :~)
Follow me on my bike for 6 minutes.
